Group classes
Contemporary Pilates Flow, Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-6:30p.
Intended to holistically mobilize and engage your whole body, this class is created to cultivate presence, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and flow. The movement sequences are an evolution and adaptation of the Pilates Method informed by current knowledge of functional movement, anatomy, fascia, and rehabilitation practices. The sequences specifically address the stresses and routines of prolonged sitting, standing, and too little movement, offering diaphragmatic breath to integrate the nervous system, challenging full body flows, and opening stretching for all levels.
Archetypal Movement Medicine, Saturday, 9-10:00a. A balance of releasing, reorganizing, and rigor this class is about deepening the foundation and embodiment of your practice. The hour-long session includes a warm-up to reorganize alignment, use of a prop to open fascia and trigger points of the muscle fibers, essential exercises framed in the Pilates format, and restorative stretching. The sequences are designed to flow and connect each movement while making time to workshop the more challenging repertoire. All levels are welcome.
Recommended props are: pinky ball or lacrosse or tennis ball, Franklin Method balls, long foam roller, yoga mat for floor work, and a yoga block.
Duets
Duet sessions provide the personal feedback of a private session and the flow of a group class with the added benefit of connecting and moving with your friend, family member, or partner. Let’s move together! Yay!
